Chris Lloyd - Area 6 President
My name is Chris Lloyd. I am the returning 2007-08 Area 6 President. I am
also honored to currently serve as a TX PTA Board of Directors Member at
Large.
I have been an active PTA volunteer for the past 10 years serving at the
Local level as President and several chairman positions. I have 7 years
experience as an officer at the Council level including Council President.
I am excited to work with the great board of PTA Leaders we have on the
Area 6 board this year and I look forward to great things in my second
year as Area 6 President.
I am the mother of a 15 year old son with Asperger’s Syndrome (a form of
Autism). I became involved in my son’s school to be a positive advocate
and assure my son’s educational needs were met. The Principal encouraged
me to get involved with PTA. I now realize the motive was trying to get me
involved in something constructive. Through my 10 years of PTA service and
leadership training I have learned the importance of advocating for ALL
children. I stride to empower and support parents to be involved positive
partners in their children’s education. PTA advocates for ALL kids
including my special needs son.
I have a passion for parental involvement and inclusiveness within TX PTA.
I am consistently advocating for TX PTA to continue our efforts to be
inclusive of ALL families in PTA whether the obstacles are educational,
cultural, or social economic.
I truly believe in PTA we
can make a difference
working together for
everychild with onevoice.
